I am blessed in the way of sisters.
I have my sister with whom I share the same parents, and I am truly blessed with her. She has been a best friend my whole life, and we share many things besides genetics, including a very unique and twisted sense of humor - in the best way possible.
Then there are my soul sisters, and with these fabulous women I do not share genetics, but it matter not a wit, because we share souls. And each one occupies a different part of mine. I am lucky to have several that live right here, close to me. And then there are the sisters who are scattered all around the world who I've never met in person. And one of the many things I am grateful to the internet for, is that it brought them into my life. Who knew they were there? But there these lovely ladies were.
And they brighten my world considerably.
One such sister I have mentioned before - sweet Paula. She is so kind, generous and full of faith, strength and love. I just adore her.
She makes beautiful things with her hands, and a few weeks ago, she posted several of her lovely creations. I, in particular, admired one of the mini quilts she made with a darling little owl on it, and it read "Hootie the Owl Stays Up Late at Night".
Now, I love the night. It is very often my favorite time of all. Late at night, when I am up all alone and the rest of the house is sleeping, it feels quite magical to me. It's only the Moon and Me, together with the sounds of all the night creatures, and I often feel creative during that time.
So, needless to say, I found myself quite fond of Hooty the Owl. Which I then mentioned to Paula.
Shortly after, this prettily adorned box showed up on my front steps.
Only good things - very good things - could be in a box like that.
It was from Paula, and opening it up was a treat to the senses in every way.
It contained sweetly wrapped parcels and an adorable handmade owl pin, together with a soft fragrance to delight my nose.
I carefully opened each delicate parcel, while "oohs" and "ahs" were proclaimed. And when I was done, this was the gorgeous sight I beheld...
Oh my, surely I did not deserve this kindness and generosity. I adored each and every precious item.
But my most favorite of all, were the ones made from Paula's hands and heart, including, of course, Hootie...
Hootie will be a favorite companion of mine, up in my studio, and will work through many a late night with me.
Always reminding me how blessed I am with Soul Sisters, particularly with one.
Thank you dear Paula. XO
Much love,
Helena
