Follow your inner moonlight; don't hide the madness. ~Allen Ginsberg
How fabulous is that?
"Follow your inner moonlight..." That is my promise to myself this summer, and honestly I have already been living that way lately. And it's wonderful.
I always have had a little madness inside me. I think we all do, don't we? But we learn to hide it for varous reasons throughout our lives. Sometimes out of shyness or insecurity or even out of fear of not being accepted - blah, blah, blah. You know the score. We've all felt that way from time to time.
But one thing I've noticed, with age comes a little bit more freedom, and being a 40-something girl has its advantages. And one of them is not being afraid anymore to follow your inner moonlight, or be a little crazy.
One of my favorite human beings that ever lived on this earth was Leo Buscaglia. Oh, he was magnificent! He talked about love and living life with passion, and he was a huge influence on me since I was a teen, and he continues to be to this day. If you have never read one of his books, please do!
One of my favorite quotes of his...
"If your neighbors think you are crazy, that gives you a huge latitude for behavior.
You can get away with a great deal, and all they'll say is
"Oh that's that crazy Buscaglia!
What can you expect."
Isn't that wonderful?
So with that in mind, this summer will be all about Moonlight and Madness. Sounds like a good plan, doesn't it?
My little shop is closed for the summer. My Girl is home from school. In between spending lovely time with her, I plan to still post little how-tos and other fun things on my blog. And you will still see me quite often on my Facebook page. If you haven't "LIKED" me there yet, I hope you will! I'm feeling very grateful and generous this summer, and will be having some giveaways, and sometimes I only post them on Facebook.
When the shop is closed, and I am not thinking along the lines of making things to sell, that opens up a whole 'nother world of creativity for me. So that in and of itself is GOOD.
So, much like my little chick-lettes, I have found a really good place to Roost for the Summer...
I'll see you there!!
Much Love,
Helena
:)
