One of my alter-egos (I have a few) is a gypsy named Matilda. She lives and travels in a gypsy caravan called a vardo pulled by 2 horses –named Roulette and Myrna.
By day, she travels all over the country, following wherever the wind guides her. By night, she can be found cooking scrumptious stew over a fire in a big cast iron pot given to her by her grandmother. She serves fresh milk from her goat, Alice. After dinner, she sits by the fire with her 2 children – 1 boy and 1 girl – and sews beautiful dresses, drapes and pillows made from rich tapestries, antique velvet, soft cottons and vintage lace. The children sing to her and tell stories while she stitches.
She has long, wild hair and wears floral skirts, brown leather boots and a vintage locket on a velvet ribbon around her neck. No one has ever seen the picture she carries inside it. When she’s chilly, she wraps herself in a beautiful fringed antique piano scarf she was once given as a present.
She and her children take walks at night and gaze at the moon and the stars. She points to planets and stars and names them. They fall asleep on mountains of down stuffed pillows inside their cozy vardo, and dream gypsy dreams.
My question now is, so soon after JW built me the chicken coop I requested, would it be wise to now ask him to build me a caravan?
I may need to wisely wait a while before I ask him about this.
But in my mind, I'm already decorating.
