Readers, I promised to be back today with
a little gift for You.
A token of my appreciation for
coming here and visiting me
for inspiring me
and for encouraging me.
Remember the pretty
vintage terry cloth fabric
from yesterday's Findings?
I thought I would make
some sweet little hand towels
and let you pick which one you want.
All you have to do is leave a comment
and your name will be entered
for a random drawing.
You can pick either
Daisy Darling (on the left)
Delightful Doily (on the right).
These are your standard hand towel size
15 in. X 22 1/2 in.
All comments must be posted by midnight
Saturday, July 31, 2010.
And the winner will be announced on
Monday, August 2, 2010.
Be sure to check back to see if you won!

Do you know that expression "My Bad"?
Well I just don't like it.
For some reason, it bugs me
and I never, ever use it.
But in this case, I think it might
just be appropriate.
You see, The Camera was, in deed,
The Sweet Husband did not take it with him.
But to my credit,
it was put in a spot where it
typically never is.
But I am not naming names
as to Who put it there.
The good news is I am now able to take pictures!
First, I wanted to share with you
a Wall of Goodies that
I've been working on.
I have collected these happy items
bit by bit,
did some nifty spray painting here and there.
And now I am working on playing with
But I am thinking that I'm liking it.
Reader, what do you think??
Too much, too little
or just right?
I also wanted to share some tabletop pretties.
This kokeshi doll reminds me of My Girl,
and now I am desirous of every single
light haired kokeshi doll Ever.
The sweeter than sweet artwork
in the yellow frame is from
the very talented blossomnbird.
I adore her work, and don't know
how she does it while raising
the World's Most Adorable Twin Boys.
Last but not least is the
bluey blue vintage radio.
Well, it speaks for itself.
Who could resist it?
And it works too, except it makes a
rather loud hummmmmm, which
the Sweet Husband said he will fix by
replacing something inside
so that I may use it and
not burn down the house.
Hope you all have the happiest of weekends!
Please let me know what you think
of the Wall.

There is happiness going on around here
for all different reasons.
First, My Girl has started the much
coveted horseback riding lessons.
She has been asking for a year.
By this picture, Dear Reader,
do you think she likes it?
And just look at this confidence while walking
It warms my heart to see her find
She is not, and never has been a
soccer kind of kid,
(and, if truth be told,
neither do I fit as a soccer mom)
but here she seems
to truly be in her element.
I guess it is fitting since
she has consistently professed,
since she was 5,
that she wants to be an animal doctor
when she grows up.
Then, there is My "Other" Girl.
On Monday she collapsed
out of the blue
and could not walk or keep her balance.
Reader, it was terrifying.
She is My Old Girl - 14 yrs.
and she has been my shadow and
best little friend.
It turns out to be
Idiopathic Geriatric Vestibular Disease.
Basically a very bad 'bout of Vertigo.
She is expected to recover in about a week.
I am so very Happy!
I have Migraine related Vertigo
so I sympathize with My Other Girl.
One more bit o' happiness to share.
I created a little Knit Nook outside
by the pond to work on
My Blanket of Many Colors.
Unfortunately, the last few days
Mr. Humidity has come back to visit
and refuses to leave,
but with all the other happiness floating
around Blu Cottage, I will
accept his presence...
for a little while at least.

We are falling into the rhythm and colors
of summer very nicely
here at the blu cottage.
The leisurely mornings flow into
the running of the errands of the day
followed by casual lunches
which drift lazily into afternoons
filled with drawing, painting or sewing…
music, swimming, reading and gardening.
Of course, chores are done in the
midst of all of this summer loveliness.
Simple dinners consist of lots of fresh veggies
complimented with herbs from the garden
and accompanied by fish, chicken or sausage on the BBQ.
Next week horseback riding lessons will be thrown
into the mix.
And the weekends are spent on the boat.
My Girl has become my best little thrifting partner
and adores going to the Salvation Army with me
to search for treasures.
I have been of late surrounded by
the loveliest of colors everywhere.
Dear Reader, I greatly adore
the array of happy colored yarn
this gal is showing her man
although I'm sure the Sweet Husband
has never displayed that level of attention
or obvious pleasure over my purchase
of yarn - or anything else for that matter.
Inspired by their gleeful expressions
and my desire to have a project to
take on the boat with me,
I have decided to knit a
Blanket of Many Colors.
It will be stripes of varying degrees and colors
And it will be a simple garter stitch.
Something that won’t require much thought
While on the boat,
but the joyful colors will keep
I also must share my thrilling new shoes.
Light as air and comforting beyond words,
these are made by the talented Julie,
the kindest Etsy Seller from Le pied leger.
She will custom make these to your
specifications and you MUST have them!
They will make you happy
not to mention you will look smashing.
Just a few more colors to share with you, Readers,
my new blondie blu pillowy pillow...
desires of your heart
and the back, which I’m finding
equally as pleasing.
I am off for an evening swim now
With my colorful family.
May you find lots of color in your life
and especially in your summer.
