This past weekend, I took a little tiny bit of a vacation for myself and visited my sister over night - just me, myself and I. This is not a very common occurrence, as being away from My Girl is almost painful for me. But sometimes I force myself to do it, and always wind up enjoying myself.
My sister lives about a 1 hour drive together with a 1 and 1/2 hour ferry ride from where I live. So my trip is comprised of a very pleasant drive and a ride on a boat. Not too shabby. She picked me up where the ferry dropped me off, and we went here.
While we were there, we had lunch and then visited the LYS.
Where I immediately wanted to purchase everything. But I promised myself I would just purchase one thing, and that one thing had to be different or unusual. So, I felt compelled to get this:
Looks like a small animal, doesn't it? When I first purchased it, I was imagining a cool, funky scarf. Now, I'm not so sure. You will have to stay tuned to see the outcome of this.
Afterwards, we headed back to her and her husband's house, where they live with their 5 dogs and 3 cats. We had a nice, leisurely dinner and stayed up until 1:30AM watching Julie and Julia.
The next day I headed home, scooped up My Girl and breathed her in, kissed my hubby and heard all about their daddy/daughter weekend. They were in the middle of making a bunny cake when I walked in the door. Seems that when they were in the supermarket, My Girl spotted a Carvel Bunny Cake which was $13.99. Yikes! When did Carvel get so expensive? So Jim talked her into baking their own, and it came out pretty darn good. Here is the fruit of their labor, next to the iPhone picture of the real $13.99 deal:
Pretty good, huh? And here is one Happy Girl with her creation:
And one Happy Mommy is back home.
