Well, kind of a plan anyway. The last 7 days have really rocked my world. I was hit with a mean, nasty, evil stomach virus. Is there any other kind? Well, no, they're all pretty bad, but this - this was brutal, and still kinda is. Without going into the gory details, over the course of 7 days, it kept morphing into different versions of itself. And I'm still not quite right. But enough of that. Time spent laying around feeling sorry for yourself can be a good time to do some thinking. I decided, that even if the CPSIA laws are revised - and I truly hope they are - I'm still going down a different road.
As much as I loved designing children's clothing, and still do, it really was difficult and kind of depressing in a way, making the same items over and over and over again. If I had been able to manufacture, like I truly dream of doing someday, that would be a horse of a different color. But honestly? Making the same pair of ruffled pants 36 times by hand was starting to wear me down.
Sowhat does that mean? It means I'll be making one of a kind items for my Etsy shop, including children's clothing (if the laws are amended), collectible dolls (from an adorable line of cloth dolls I'm designing!), and also women's clothing. I'll be posting sneak peeks in the weeks to come.
Knitting progress is still taking place.
I just purchased this gorgeous yarn for a sweater for My Girl.
Yes, I know. I've only made one scarf so far, and I am moving onto a sweater already. I don't know if I'm ambitious or just plain insane, but we'll see what happens with that.
And feast your eyes on this stuff:
I'm not really sure exactly what you can knit with it, or if I would even like the results, but it's so yummy looking.
Meanwhile, the weather still continues to look like this:
Good sweater knitting weather!
